Well...in case you missed it, the season 2 premeire of Heroes was shown last night at 8:00pm on NBC. It was entitled "4 months later" and was confusing for the new watcher who knew nothing of the Heroes universe. I however found it to be excellent and am excited for the upcoming season. If anyone would like to borrow season 1 it is available for rent from the Joff library. It is in this critic's review the best show on television. My vote for the new slogan would be "Save the soccer player...save the world." Somehow they could incorporate the global game into a show that they desire to be global, but I doubt they would be that smart.
But NBC is onto a few good things, one of which is possibly my number 2 show in "Friday Night Lights". It is a good watch, not on par with Heroes, but watchable and you don't have to be smart to watch it like you do to watch Heroes. "Friday Night Lights" season 1 is also available to rent from the Jeff library, but only disc 1 at present, until i get further along in the season.
The third good thing from NBC is Deal or No Deal. It is the perfect filler show, it requires no skill, and no knowledge (other than knowing the numbers 1-26). If you go on the NBC casting website you can see the exact specifications for the show. I think if you mention that you are a hillbilly from arkansas you will immediately be accepted. I think I could get accepted because I am married living with my parents, I may have to look into it, although I would rather get onto "Are you Smarter than a 5th grader?" however that show isn't on NBC and therefore has no relevance to this blog.
Lastly, while perusing the NBC casting website I came across this interesting gem. http://www.nbc.com/Casting/#gladiators. I can't believe it!! American Gladiators is coming back!!! This could jump up to my number 2 show if it lives up to the hype. I think Jon needs to take steroids and go try out for the show as "Glazer" the ultra mean donut maker, that way he could also get sponsorship from one of his favorite companies, "Dunkin Donuts". The whole concept works if you think about it.
I hope Mike Tirico and the other former football player are hosts of the show otherwise it will just be disappointing. Also if you watch replays of the later seasons on ESPN classic, the lady with the huge eyebrows, i hope she comes back too. But if Jon does become Glazer we should all go try out and then it would set up good storylines and add a good human interest story. But also they could use the American gladiators on Deal or no Deal, it would be great crossover.
Before I finish, I would like to note that some fathers have been combating the idea that they have fainted in the past. We report truth on the Scan2000 blog, never fair and never balanced. But always true.
