it was a long difficult day/labor. this isn't the place to share details, so if you want to know more, call me. mostly, I am thankful that the baby and momma are ok and recovering nicely.
the name: "Irene" is shannon's middle name...also her grandmother's name, who happens to be turning 90 years old on July 11th. Shannon and her have a sort of special/unique relationship and we are thrilled to name her after her! "Hope" is a name and 'concept' that we love. we believe in a "God of hope". the main motif for my master's degree focused on "hope-filled suffering" (basically that although alot of reality/the world seems to be pretty sucky, the bible speaks of creation as hope-filled and worth living for, because it was created, sustained, and will be redeemed by a God of hope). We later learned that "hope" is also the apparent english translation of my russian grandmother...2 grandmas = that pretty much stuck for her name!

Congrats on your little sparky - she is so pretty , it will be fun to hear your thoughts on parenthood and Greg I was so happy to hear that you and Kim are pregnant and doing well. Let me know if you two daddys need any tips as we just welcomed baby #3 - 11 lbs 11oz- uhh can you say C section.. and let the record show that Big L actually dictated his blog and my mom typed it for him - so does that really even count??

11 lbs is ridiculous I can't even tell you how it happened or how miserable I was but now we have a little man child, my Dr was so proud you would have thought he made the baby himself?! He begged to call the 5 o'clock news. You guys may be in the 10 - 11 pound range with your future babies, my first was 9 lbs too.
if you start with 9 lbs and end up at 11 lbs 11 ozs, how big is the next one? I think Kim vomited a little when she read that. Irene Sparky I. is amazing, God has shown off for you and Shannon. This may inadvertently become a baby blog, or at least one about miracles...it's not every day you have one in your arms that you get to share with the world ( the whole world reads this blog, right?) Joff, make sure Jon throws you a beer and diaper bash...it's a racket.

miracles are things that happen with no earthly explanation, like how you guys and my sister are all friends now. i guess babies will do that. congrats to everyone who has had, is having or is about to have a baby. your numbers are increasing exponentially and i cant keep up. i cant wait to watch sparkella and the little who playing with salsa together.

I have confirmation that #11 was indeed Big L ( Blythe would never say the phrase full reverse thrust! please.) Insider tip- you will know the dictating ends when every single word is spelled wrong.
