So we have pretty much completely become "dog people." It seems like all we ever talk about anymore is our dog. Not that I have a problem with that. I love my dog. In fact with all of the bus drama going around these days it's nice to have something to talk about that's completely unrelated.
One of the things I really like is how we've renamed alot of things around here from Ray's perspective. Some of my favorites (and I'll use = for Jeremy's benefit):
* "The Pee Field" = pretty self-explanatory I think.
* "The Poop Field" = ditto
* "The Neutral Zone" = a little field that is bordered by the Grand Canal, the Poop Field, the Big Lake, and the Animal Field. I like to think of it as the center of New Town.
* "The Animal Field" = a square here in New Town that is now home to some of the animals from the old Noah's Ark restaraunt in St. Charles, a prairie-type environment, a playground, a couple little ponds, and a big open field.
* "The Corridors of Temptation" = pathways contained within the Animal Field that are home to a whole lot of bunnies, mulch, and poop. Which are all things Ray is very interested in.
* "The Fields of Freedom" = fields in the back of New Town where Ray is allowed to walk wherever he wants, smell everything, snarfle, lay down, etc.(The rest of the time that we walk I make him walk right next to me.)
* "The Office" = the landing on the staircase in our apartment. Probably Ray's favorite place in our home. He likes to take his work and/or toys up there. It's kinda like his little cave but he can still look down and see us on the couch.
* "Work" = a bone. Ray really enjoys working.
* "Snarfle" = attempting to scratch one's face/back by rubbing them on the bed/couch/carpet/grass/etc and rolling around. Usually accompanied by a snortlike sound.
I need to get that program that lets you write on a map so I can post a visual aide.

Watching a dog snarfle is one of my favorite things.
When you come visit I will take you by "The Pee Alley" downtown. "The Pee Alley" = alley that I walk past everyday from which the distinct aroma of pee always comes.
I can help you with maps and such, for a small fee. But you can get a good discount being family and all.
An accompanying map would be a pretty cool deal...i may just do the work pro bono to build up my portfolio.
But seriously, i need to link a new blog to the network and i am not sure if i have the permission to do so. So if someone could make it happen i would appreciate it.
snarfling looks like lots of fun, and clyde really enjoyes it. the worst snarfle ever was up at this place called "mockvill" where we spent a weekend riding horses. clyde came along and snarfled all over this huge pile of fresh horse crap. from then on we were pretty particular where and what he snarfled.
welcome to the club. you now have banter at awkward dinner parties, random weddings and high school reunions.
I am glad that other dogs snarfle in gross things...when swiffer does this, frequently in poop from various wild animals (preferably rabbit poo), we want to give her away.
the "office" made me laugh. that is good.
(also, will clyde the clyde remember his former owners when they return? and also also, did MGW really just comment on 2 posts in a row?! is he back!?!!!)
Lothar can still snarfle with the best of them, however, she is into her last few months of life. We are trying to enjoy her company every chance we get. We are still very much dog people (even after kids). I never liked those people who said "you'll forget your dog once you have kids". We made sure our boys became dog people, and they did. Labs are the best and bring hours and hours of dismay as well as much happiness into our lives. Enjoy Ray's company! He sounds like a GREAT dog.
nice to see your mugs the other night. needless to say, i like your dog. Every dog has its day and i think he and clyde might become friends one of those days, then they can roll around in poop together. it is what it is.
today we might go to the pool today, or we may head to the beach, 6 and 1/2doz. i just dont know what ill do, ignorance is bliss and knowlege is power. im leaning toward the pool, where theres a will theres a way. hopefully it wont rain, cause we all know that when it rains it pours.
we've been playing lots of bocci ball. ill try to win one for the gipper. my friend likes whiffle ball and i prefer bocci, we dont really argue about it too much so ill let sleeping dogs lie.
this baby stuff is kinda piling up, but rome wasnt built in a day. we had a hard time picking out the car seat, you know what they say, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. vic is really excited about bringing her home, ill cross that bridge when i come to it.
i really want to go snorkeling later and im not sure if vicki is on board, im thinking that you can lead a horse to water but you cant make him drink.
they made a new law out here about window tinting, so i had to remove a layer from my front windshield. When in Rome..
i hope im not putting the cart before the horse here but i'd wager that you really like dried mango.
alas its time for me to go, id better piss or get off the pot you know, fish or cut bait.
With friends like Matt, who needs idioms...
Well played, sir, well played.
mgw, you forgot to include "haja paciencia with guacamole on your head"
has to be one of the dumbest sentences in the english language. if i ever hear any of you say this, i will laugh at you.
Gretel, i'm starting to understand the hours and hours of dismay....
